Shipping & Handling

Shipping and handling is included in the price of many items available on Costco.

If an item requires an additional shipping and handling charge, the applicable charge will be displayed on the product page or calculated during checkout based on the delivery ZIP code and destination.

Any applicable shipping charges will be shown before the order is submitted.

Orders containing multiple products may be shipped separately. Products may also be fulfilled from different warehouses, vendors, or distribution locations depending on inventory availability.

As a result, customers may receive multiple packages or deliveries for a single order.

Shipping Methods

The delivery method available for an order depends on the product being purchased.

Standard Delivery

Most small and medium-sized items are shipped using parcel carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

Where available, expedited shipping may be selected for an additional shipping and handling charge.

Standard Delivery – No Scheduled Appointment

Certain larger items may be shipped through a freight carrier without requiring a scheduled delivery appointment.

These items are generally delivered near the customer's front door and normally do not require a signature.

Curbside Delivery

Curbside Delivery is available for certain oversized products.

The carrier will deliver the merchandise to the customer's driveway or another designated curbside location.

A delivery appointment may be required, and a signature may be required at the time of delivery.

Threshold Delivery

Threshold Delivery provides delivery to the first dry and secure area of the property, such as:

• Inside the front entrance
• Garage
• Covered entry area

A scheduled appointment and customer signature are generally required.

Room of Choice Delivery

For qualifying furniture and other large products, Room of Choice Delivery includes placement of the item in a room selected by the customer.

The delivery location must have a clear and safe path for the delivery team.

A scheduled appointment and signature are generally required.

White Glove Delivery

Qualifying products may include White Glove Delivery.

Depending on the product, this service may include:

• Scheduled delivery
• Delivery to the designated room
• Unpacking
• Basic setup
• Product inspection
• Removal of packaging materials

Appliance Delivery

Certain appliances may qualify for in-home delivery.

Depending on the product, location, carrier, installer availability, and applicable state or local requirements, appliance delivery may include basic installation or hookup and removal of an existing appliance.

Some installation services may require that existing plumbing, electrical connections, ventilation systems, or other utilities meet applicable codes and installation requirements.

Delivery Time

Estimated shipping and delivery times vary by product.

After an order is placed, an order confirmation will normally contain applicable shipping information.

Once an item has shipped, tracking information may be provided by email when available.

Shipping Destinations

Costco primarily provides delivery to eligible addresses within the United States.

Many qualifying products may also be shipped to:

Shipping Restrictions

Costco Grocery Delivery

Eligible Costco Grocery products may have separate delivery terms.

2-Day Delivery

Eligible non-perishable products marked 2-Day Delivery may be subject to a $3 delivery surcharge per item.

The delivery surcharge is waived when the qualifying Costco Grocery order reaches $75 or more before tax.

Same-Day Delivery

Same-Day Delivery is available in qualifying markets and is powered through Instacart.

Product availability, pricing, service areas, and delivery windows may differ from standard Costco shipping.

Large & Freight Deliveries

Large furniture, appliances, outdoor products, and other oversized merchandise may be transported by freight carrier rather than standard parcel delivery.

Depending on the product, customers may be contacted by the carrier to arrange a delivery appointment.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that:

• Delivery pathways are accessible and safe.
• Doorways, hallways, elevators, and stairways are large enough for the merchandise.
• The delivery location is ready before the scheduled appointment.
• An authorized adult is available when a signature is required.

The exact level of service provided will depend on the delivery method associated with the product.

Multiple Shipments

Items in the same order may be shipped separately.

Because products may be fulfilled by different Costco facilities, vendors, or manufacturers, packages may arrive on different dates.

Separate tracking information may be provided for each shipment.

Order Tracking

Customers can review their order status through their Costco account under Orders & Purchases.

When tracking is available, shipment confirmation and carrier tracking information may also be sent by email.

Tracking information may take additional time to become active after the shipment notification is issued.

Delivery Charges

Shipping charges vary by product and destination.

Where shipping and handling is included in the advertised product price, no separate shipping charge will normally be added.

Where a product displays “plus shipping and handling,” the applicable amount will be calculated using the shipping destination and displayed before checkout is completed.
