Description
This roomy, oval Dutch oven is perfect for a dinner party, ideal for braising whole roasts or baking chicken and duck. STAUB cocottes are unsurpassed for slow-cooking meat and vegetables, simmering stews and soups. Enameled cast iron requires no seasoning and has exceptional heat retention, heating evenly throughout. The heavy weight, tight-fitting lid retains moisture, and tiny bumps on the lid interior create a rain-forest effect, evenly returning juices back onto food. Rooted in French culinary heritage, STAUB cookware is beloved by professional and home chefs for its exquisite craftsmanship, performance, and beauty. Each STAUB cocotte transitions elegantly from oven to table, allowing you to cook and serve in the same dish.
STAUB cocottes are renowned for their stewing properties, thanks to the cast iron and enamel material combination that retains and evenly releases heat. Originally used in France to cook chicken, these casserole dishes are now versatile for traditional stewed dishes, roasts, and vegetable dishes. The special ‘drip’ design in the lid evenly distributes condensation, preventing food from drying out. Suitable for all heat sources, including induction hobs and ovens, it has a diameter of 33 cm (13 in) and a height of 17 cm (6.7 in), holding 6.7 litres (7.1 QT).
